These young believers were confused about the Rapture and the Day of the Lord. Were they the same event? What if they had missed the rapture and were now in the Day of the Lord? Paul encourages them that they are separate events and as believers they will not be in the Day of the Lord and encourages them to live every day as if the Lord could return at any moment.
