COMMUNITY CHURCH CAMPSITE AT COOMALIE CREEK

The campsite is an outreach ministry of the Darwin Community Church. It is a beautiful place located some 80 kms from Darwin and 10 kms from the town of Batchelor. It offers some modern amenities while still retaining a do it yourself approach to camping. It has electricity throughout, double gas oven, chill room and some Old Sydney William Huts. A modern ablution block is available which provides hot and cold water. A new addition is a Disabled shower and toilet facility has been completed and is available. We encourage camping during the Dry season which is May through to October.

The campsite is beautifully situated and enables people to camp as long as they want and then take day trips to Litchfield National Park and visit Florence Falls, Buley Rock Hole and Wangi Falls and then return to the campsite for refreshment and relaxation.

We have onsite caretakers who will make all campers feel welcome and attend to you enquiries.

Booking is absolutely essential as it is first in first served basis. The campsite over recent times has become ideal for weddings. Please fill out booking form on the other side and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

The fees for use of campsite are at present $15 per person per day. Concessions will be given to group bookings of 50 people or more about $10 per person. Children under 5 remain free of any fees.

Caravans and campervan that need a powered site will be charged $26 per day. Unpowered site will be charged at $20 per day. Caravans and campervans please note there are limited spaces and it will awarded on a first come basis.

No pets are allowed on campsite without the express permission of management. This has come about because of campers allowing pets to run around unsupervised and leaving mess behind that offends other campers and provides a health and hygiene issue.

All camps are asked to provide daily numbers with our caretakers so that accurate numbers can be provided on Invoice, Unfortunately some camp hirers have not been honest in this area and it sad that we have to look at this option.

Please note: Creek does not belong to campsite and is open to the public. You need to provide your own lifesaver for swimming and water sessions. The creek is surveyed for crocodiles before the Dry season but no guarantees can be given in writing – do so at your own discretion.
