Ezekiel had the thankless task to warn the people of the character of the judgment that it would be severe because of their idolatry. It helps us today to understand the reasons why God is angered by our sin and how He has no option but to deal with it and He has designated a Day of reckoning for the world in the future. Are we listening and looking for indications that it is coming soon.

The meaning of the cross to first century Christians was very different from the modern day take of it. To them the cross was an emblem of suffering and shame, reserved only for criminals and it was considered a shame to be a follower of one who had died this way. To do so meant that you will willing to pay the same price as the one who had died this way.

Jesus warned that the wealthy would find it hard to enter His Kingdom because their trust was in themselves and their own abilities and would find it difficult to trust God for anything when they can get what they want today

I want it all a song made famous by Queen in 1989 and it typifies our culture today. I want everything on my terms even that of eternal life. Jesus confronts a young man who had it all and wanted eternal life - he didn't start with the Gospel, he confronted the man with his condition before God. This young man didn't appreciate what he was told and walked away from the very thing he needed.

Are children a Blessing or a Burden? How do we bring them up? What does it mean that unless we become childlike we will not enter the Kingdom of God?
